Judith Jo 'Jodie' Wright Tepfer

Judith Jo “Jodie” Wright-Tepfer passed away peacefully at home on May 26, 2023.

She was born Sept. 24, 1947 in Wichita Falls and was Archer County Rodeo Queen in 1964.

While raising two daughters she graduated from Texas Womens University, and subsequently received her masters in British Literature from TCU.

A long time educator and coach in the Birdville ISD, she retired in 2004. She loved travel, reading, and Jeopardy. was a strong advocate for equal rights and was very involved in the Democratic Party.

She is survived by daughters Mika Tepfer of Bedford, Tav Tepfer, of Austin and daughter in law Chantel Procell of Austin.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Royal Theater in Archer City on June 23 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.
