Vicky Lee Barnett Wilson, age 77, of Archer City received her Angel Wings this morning, Friday, March 29, 2024, in Wichita Falls. She is in the presence of our Lord and in the arms of her husband, Ray, who also passed away fifteen years ago today.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, April 1, at Aulds Funeral Home with Roger Deerinwater of Archer City officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Vicky was born Jan. 8, 1947, in Dalhart, Texas to the late William Barnett and Inez Myrtle Roper Barnett where she attended school.

She and Ray Wilson were married Oct. 31, 1992 in Archer City. He preceded her in death on March 29, 2009.

Vicky was a hairdresser in Fort Worth for several years. She moved to Wichita Falls and was a bartender nearly everywhere in town. Vicky shared her birthday with Elvis and she had the pleasure of meeting Elvis. Vicky loved playing the tambourine and traveling. She loved life and life loved her back. Vicky was the life of the party and there was never a dull moment with her.

Vicky is survived by her Aunt Barbara Fry of Henrietta, cousins, Tammy, Mike, Connie, Bill and Randy; and her dear friends, Gayla Gunn, Lori Rutledge, Mary Ann Wages and Kellie Fielding.

Serving as pallbearers will be Rusty Gilmore, Stephen Huffman, Curtis Nelson, Clay Reid, Kevin Rutledge and Bobby Steinberger, Jr.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Wichita Falls, 4909 Johnson Road, Wichita Falls, Texas 76310 or St. Jude Children’s Hospital 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.

Vicky asked that we give a big thank you to Gayla Gunn, Lori Rutledge, Mary Ann Wages, Kellie Fielding and Bill Hagler for all the love and help they gave her and for always being there when she needed them.
