Gean Campbell
Gean Campbell, age 96, of Archer City, passed away Tuesday morning, March 22, in Wichita Falls.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, March 25, at the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Mikey Pesqueda, Pastor of the First Baptist Church, and Roger Deerinwater of Archer City officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Gean was born Oct. 21, 1925 in Beggs, Oklahoma to the late John Calvin Ward and Pearl Hart Ward.
She and A.O. “Bully” Campbell, Jr. were married May 25, 1951 in Archer City. He preceded her in death on Aug. 20, 1990.
Gean attended high school in Electra and then moved to Archer City. After graduation, she went to Beauty School in Wichita Falls. Gean was the owner and operator of Gean’s Beauty Shop for over fifty years.
Gean was a member of the First Baptist Church where she worked in the nursery and was a Sunday School teacher. She also was a member of the Archer City Country Club Ladies Auxiliary.
Gean was very active with her children when they were in school working in the concession stand and making money for the kids to take on their senior trips. She loved to travel especially with her grandchildren.
Survivors include two sons, Allen Campbell of Wichita Falls and Ward Campbell and wife, Carol of Archer City; daughter, Arlina Jentsch and husband, Mark of Archer City; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and brother, Calvin Ward of Bay City.
She was also preceded in death by brothers, Paul Ward and John Ward and sisters, Lucille Ward Pennington and Helen Ward Brearly.
