Sonya was born in Olney Texas on July 2, 1968 to Delbert Bryan Huffman and Sandra Ann Morrison Huffman. She was a 1986 graduate of Archer City High School.
She and Dusty Mc-Cord were married Aug. 15, 1997 in Archer City.
Sonya was a homemaker for the majority of her life where she devoted her life to her husband, children, and grandchildren. Being a “Nawnaw” to her eight, soon to be nine, grandchildren was her favorite title. No matter how weary she was Nawnaw was not going to miss a single event for her grand babies. Her other pride and joy was her Miniature Schnauzer, Tillie Sue. Once Sonya’s sickness began, her puppy, Tillie, brought a lot of light to each day for her.
Sonya battled sickness for many years where she consistently suited up to fight. The devil tried many times to steal her joy, but no matter how many times he tried to take her down she never let him win. Sonya was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archer City.
Survivors include her husband, Dusty McCord of Archer City; six daughters, Tillie Sue McCord, Kara Canada and husband, Jon, Alia Rorabaw all of Archer City, Ashton Jones and husband, Stetson of Lubbock, Amanda Beal of Wichita Falls and Amy Holley of Archer City; one son, Kyle McCord of Post Oak; mother, Sandra Huffman; brother, Stephen Huffman; sister, Sheila Kuykendall all of Northern Archer County; eight grandchildren, Bayleigh, Jaycie, Addie, Devan, Hadley, Trey, Jenzen and Wrenley; one grandson on the way, Hatton; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
