Lewis E. Posey
Lewis E. Posey, age 85, of Archer City, Texas passed away Sunday, Oct. 27, 2024, at his residence.
Services will be held at 2p.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Archer City with Roger Deerinwater officiating. Interment will follow in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
Lewis was born April 11, 1939 in Montague, Texas to the late Ocie Emery Posey and Mabel Lillian Doan Posey.
He and Amy Lewis were married June 12, 1959 in Archer City. She preceded him in death on Aug. 5, 2009.
Lewis was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archer City. He enjoyed playing the guitar and fiddle where he played in Jamborees and also at the Archer Nursing Home. Lewis was lovingly known as “Dado” to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was devoted to watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren in any sports they were involved in. He especially loved basketball and playing 42. Lewis was the most faithful caretaker for his wife, Amy.
Survivors include his daughter, Kelly Veitenheimer and husband, Keith of Lakeside City; son, Landon Posey of Archer City; sister, Joyce Ann Keller of Megargel; brother, Johnny Posey and wife, Charlotte of Megargel; five grandchildren, Deidra Zschiesche and husband, Chad of Granbury, Megan Veitenheimer of Wichita Falls, Micah Hall and husband, Dane of Wichita Falls, Kari Posey of Lubbock, and Josh Posey and wife, Chelsey of Lubbock; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Lewis was also preceded in death by brother, Wayne Posey and sister, Darlie Guerra.
