Rosalee was born Oct. 14, 1936, to the late Frederick John Steinberger and Helen Marie Bindel Steinberger in Windthorst, Texas. She graduated from Windthorst High School where she was one of the first cheerleaders.

She and Richard William Schroeder were married Aug. 8, 1956, in Windthorst. He preceded her in death on Oct. 18, 2017.

During her early marriage, she and her husband were the owners and operators of a café in Windthorst. She also sold Avon for many years. In addition, she also was a school bus driver for thirty-four years. Rosalee was an excellent cook and baker. She made homemade dinner rolls for many of the bereavement meals and sporting events in Windthorst.

Rosalee enjoyed fishing, going to casinos, and attending her grandchildren’s sports events and other activities. She also treasured her Tuesdays, playing games with the Windthorst Senior Citizens group, and truly valued the friendships with her Thursday card party friends. Rosalee loved talking and enjoyed visiting the sick and elderly and was always so cheerful and happy. She was a very loving mother who has always been a constant in her children’s lives, but nothing compared to the love she had for her grandchildren. The “apples of her eyes” were Emily, Aiden, and Ryan, whom she lived with for the last seven years after the death of her husband.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and the Christian Mother’s Society.

Survivors include four daughters, Denise Cooper and husband, Jerry of Archer City, Geneva Schroeder of Wichita Falls, Tammy Schroeder of Windthorst and Linette Fleitman and husband, Donnie of Windthorst; two sons, Cyril Schroeder and wife, Mary Jo of Windthorst and Ricky Schroeder of Windthorst; brother, Bobby Steinberger and wife, Sue of Windthorst; sixteen grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren; one greatgreat- grandchild; and many nieces and nephews.
