Edward Maurice Strawn passed away on 23 June 2026 in Yukon, Oklahoma from complications of double pneumonia. Maurice was born March 27, 1939 in Martha, Oklahoma, Jackson, County to George M. Strawn and Melba Edwards.

He was raised in Archer City, Texas by his grandparents, Essie and Jessie Strawn. Church and Sunday School services became an everyday part of his life.

He attended school in Archer City and graduated in 1957. He loved and excelled in sports. It was here he became a lifelong Texas Longhorn fan.

After graduation he attended North Texas University in Denton, Texas. In 1960 he served four years in the Army and moved to Wichita Falls, Texas where he was introduced to his forever sweetheart Robbie Williams. They married in 1964 and raised one son Barry, their pride and joy.

In May 1964 Maurice started his 44-year-long career with WPI which provided the chance for his family to experience life in several states. He moved to Houston in 1990. He enjoyed playing golf with friends and was marshal to one Golf course which gave him the opportunity to play golf whenever available. By the end of 2013, he moved from Richmond, Texas to Yukon, Oklahoma to be near his son Barry, grandkids and great-grandkids.

A daily ritual Maurice enjoyed was early morning coffee at McDonalds and the Seniors Citizens Center with men from Mustang and surrounding area. Hearing stories from these mornings was comical.

Maurice loved his Church in Mustang and Sunday school, especially Tuesday morning breakfast.

Maurice was a gentleman, kind with a great sense of humor, an intense listener and graced with common sense. He showed determination which will leave a legacy on those lives he touched.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandad and papa. Left to cherish his memory is loving wife Robbie, faithful dog Maxie, son Barry and his wife Jennifer, grandson Justin and his wife Alicía and four great grandchildren, Sydney, Jarrett, Kaden and Austyn.
