Billie Sue "Sue" Sorrels
Billie Sue 'Sue' Sorrels of Arlington, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on July 12, 2026, at the age of 82. She was born on October 25, 1943, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Myrtle Sorrels and Thaddeus 'Tonnie' Sorrels.
Sue graduated from Holliday High School with the Class of 1961 and attended the University of Tulsa. She spent more than four decades in the travel industry, helping clients plan unforgettable journeys all over the world. Sharing her love of travel and creating meaningful experiences for others was one of the greatest joys of her life.
Sue will be fondly remembered for her unwavering devotion to her daughter, Allison; her granddaughters, Olivia and Caroline, who lovingly knew her as 'Gimpy'; her great-nieces, Mallory and Abigail; her beloved dogs and cats; and her treasured Holliday High School family.
She had a remarkable gift for maintaining lifelong relationships. Whether someone was searching for information about a classmate from Holliday, a family connection, or how two people might be related, Sue always seemed to know the answer. She was the family's historian, a loyal friend, and someone who never let distance or time diminish the bonds she shared with those she loved.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Tonnie and Myrtle Sorrels; her broth- ers, Tillman Sorrels and Dean Sorrels; and her sis- ter, Betty Michelini.
She is survived by her daughter, Allison Barrickman of Dallas, Texas; her granddaughters, Olivia Pound of Fort Worth, Texas, and Caroline Pound of Dallas, Texas; her older sister, Lila Winter of Dallas, Texas, as well as many other cherished family members and dear friends.
A celebration of Sue's life will be held at the Assembly of God Church in Holliday, Texas, on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m.
