Steven Wayne Ingram
Steven Wayne Ingram, age 35 of Valley View, Texas passed away on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026.
Steven was born in Denton, on Dec. 12, 1990, to Pamela Sue (Poirot) Ingram, who predeceased him, and Charles Wayne Ingram of Valley View. Steven was the delight of his parents when he was born and continued to be the love of their lives as years went by.
Steven was active in the Boy Scouts of America as a young man and achieved one of the most prestigious and uncommonly given awards by the Boy Scouts of America after he saved the life of a woman who was choking by administering the Heimlich Maneuver which he had learned in his first aid and lifesaving classes in the Boy Scouts. The Life Saving and Meritorious Action Award is received on average only by a few dozen Scouts each year. Steven also received many merit badges and enjoyed his time camping with friends and many leaders who had an impact on his life for many years.
In addition to camping in the Boy Scouts, Steven enjoyed going to “The Ranch”, with his Grandfather James L. Poirot, who predeceased him, and his Grandmother Peggy A. Poirot of Fort Worth, Texas, where he would spend days up there with his Grandfather helping to work the cattle at the ranch, and inevitably end the day with Steven and his Grandfather’s favorite thing of the day, a grilled T-bone steak and some Ranch Style beans cooked over the open fire.
Steven traveled regularly while he was growing up with his Grandfather James and Grandmother Peggy Poirot to Colorado and those trips were highlights of the year for Steven as well as his Grandparents. Steven would not only spend time with them, but would also visit his Grandmother Lil Bryant of Valley View, who predeceased him, where he would spend time on the land that she had enjoying the outdoors, various pets and the peace of the “country life”.
Steven graduated from Willowbend Academy with his high school diploma in 2009. Despite challenges that he faced with Aspergers Syndrome, Steven worked hard and graduated with honors. It was a proud moment for him, his parents, his Grandparents and all those who encouraged Steven throughout school.
Steven was always willing to lend a helping hand and especially enjoyed working with his Grandparents, James and Peggy Poirot, in setting up for events with VNA Hospice of Denton for over 10 years. Steven would help set up chairs, tables, decorate and enjoyed meeting the people there during their grief support sessions. Although he looked imposing at 6 foot 5 inches and with size 15 shoes, he was often seen as a “gentle giant”, who showed love, compassion and care for anyone in need by encouraging and supporting people who were grieving.
Steven enjoyed computers and anything related to them! He would spend hours and hours not only with online games that he played with his friends and his father, Wayne Ingram, but Steven designed webpages for friends and almost anyone who would ask him. Steven would not only play games, he also enjoyed programming and designing games for computers and would enjoy sharing those games with many of his online friends who would “try out” his programs and help him to fix any “bugs” that might be found.
After Steven’s mother, Pam Ingram, passed away, he moved in and lived with his father, Wayne. The two of them would often play games online with each other and with others until late in the night and they enjoyed spending time together not only online but also Steven would talk about how he and his Dad would often cook together or grill out and how much he enjoyed that time he had with his Dad.
Steven’s unexpected death was a surprise to all of his family and friends. He was a kind soul who will be missed for his care that he showed to all he met, for his love of helping others, a great love and care for his pets and all animals, for his love for his parents, his grandparents and his family and he will be missed by those whose lives he touched in the gentle loving way that was truly, “Steven”.
Steven is survived by his father, Charles Wayne Ingram, his Grandmother Peggy A. Poirot of Fort Worth, his uncle, Fr. Jeff and Dr. Jean Poirot of Fort Worth, his Great Uncle’s Bill Bryant, Danny Bryant and his wife Betty. Also, Danny Joe and Debbie Schroeder of Windthorst, Gloria Schroeder of Windthorst, Berta Lou Eaves of Mansfield, Gene and Pat Poirot of Baytown, Bob and Joy Poirot of Evergreen, Colorado and numerous friends and relatives.
