Bobby Dwayne Downing, Jr. was born April 4, 1954 in Archer City to Bobby and Dorthy Downing. He died Jan. 12, 2023 in Graham.

Bobby graduated from Archer City High School in 1972. He lived most of his adult life in Graham and Midland, Texas. He was a talented artist, mechanic, and engineer. Bobby loved spending time with his family and friends. He worked hard and played hard. He loved hotrods, motorcycles, hunting, and fishing. He could fix, create, or build anything he set his mind to. In 2019, he retired from Plains Pipeline after 30 years as a pipeline mechanic and supervisor. Upon retirement, he moved from Midland to Vera, Texas to care for his mother who he loved dearly. In August 2022, Bobby was thrilled when his 1936 Ford Coup won Best of Show and placed first in its class at the Stars and Cars car show in Graham, Texas.

Bobby was preceded in death by his father in 1985 and mother in 2022.

He will continue to be loved and missed by son, Brad Downing and wife, Gina of Graham, daughter, Tracie Parvin and husband, Mike of Wichita Falls, son, Cody Downing of Wichita Falls, sister, Linda Croom of Archer City, sister, Debra Barnhart Gibson and husband, Jeff of Merritt Island, Florida; grandchildren, Kaden Downing and Donovan Downing of Wichita Falls, Ben Parvin of Wichita Falls and Kinzi Rose of Gulfport, Mississippi. He also had twin great-granddaughters, Amethyst and Jade Downing, nieces, Aleisha Tweed and Misty Hunt, nephews, Winford Branch and Brian Berend. He spent his last days with girlfriend, Connie Kinney.

Friends and family will gather to celebrate Bobby’s life Saturday, Feb. 4, 2023, at 2 p.m. at The Alley House in Graham, Texas. Cremation arrangements were under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
