Buene Anne Douglas Neel

Buene Anne Douglas Neel, age 86, of Swansboro, North Carolina, formerly of Archer City, passed away Dec.16, 2024 in Swansboro.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2024, at Aulds Funeral Home with her granddaughter, April Mayberry, officiating. Interment followed in the Archer City Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Anne was born to the late Mittie Eunice “Tot” Robertson and James Douglas on Dec.17, 1937 in Oklahoma City. She was raised by her mother and step-father, Samuel Bertram Yeager in Archer City.

Anne graduated from Archer City High School and later received her Master’s Degree in Education from San Angelo University. She was a dedicated teacher and educator/administrator throughout her life. She was a member of Community Christian Church in Round Rock, Texas where she served on many church groups and the church band. She also was a member of the Austin Texas Symphony and the Flute Trio.

Survivors include her daughter, Kimbra Bloom and husband, Spencer of Chicago, Illinois; son Kent Neel and Connie of Jacksonville, North Carolina; brother, Joe Douglas and wife, Janice of Los Angeles, California; and nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
