Carolyn Margaret Wiede (Schroeder), 72, passed away peacefully on Jan.18, 2024 in San Marcos. She was born to Alois and Frances in Windthorst on Sept 18, 1951. Carolyn led a full life surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Carolyn grew up on a dairy farm in the country until her family moved into town in Windthorst. She attended Windthorst Catholic School during her elementary years and Windthorst High School where she was a cheerleader. She graduated from Windthorst High School in 1970. She went to work at Midwestern University in Wichita Falls in the print department. When she moved to San Marcos, she started working at Southwest Texas University in the print department. Through hard work she became a manager of the print department. She retired from the University and then kept busy working for Dollar General and finally at Sam’s Club in San Marcos. She loved to watch NASCAR Racing and NFL football, especially the Cowboys.

In 1977, Carolyn married her husband, James R. Wiede and they celebrated 46 years together, living in San Marcos. She had three children, Jody W. Jackson of Wichita Falls, Melissa L. Salas (married to Joe Salas) of San Antonio, and Kayla L. Wiede Linde (married to Michael D. Linde) of San Marcos.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Alois and Frances Schroeder, her sister, Elaine Thomas, her brother, Darrel Schroeder, her brother-inlaw, Clifford Pennartz, her brother-in-law, Larry Thomas, her brotherin- law, Warren Wiede, her son-in-law, Michael D. Linde, her motherin- law, Anna Mae Wiede, and her father-inlaw, Harry F. Wiede.

Carolyn is survived by her husband, James Wiede and her three children, Jody W. Jackson, Melissa L. Salas, and Kayla L. Wiede Linde; her six grandchildren, Carley J. Jackson, Kamryn M. Wilson, Jonathon “Colby” Wilson, Kennedee L. Wilson, Michael D. Linde, Emery L. Salas, Paxton J. Salas, and Bradley J. Bourgeois, and her great-grandchild, Adalynn R. Wilson. She is also survived by a brother, Roy Schroeder, sister- in-law, Tami Schroeder, sisters, Darlene Pennartz, Shirley Buie, and Rena Mathews, and a brother-in-law, David Buie.

Carolyn’s wishes were to be cremated. A celebration of life will be held in her honor at a later date.
