CoeAnna Lynn Hitchcock assed away peacefully in her sleep under the care of Hoffmann Hospice House in Bakersfield, CA, on Jan. 28, 2024. She was 84 and had been suffering from Dementia for several years. She was small in stature but definitely feisty, and has been described as caring, witty, ornery, and a loving mother. She loved working outside in her yard and flower gardens, animals, Hot Toddies, and always listening to old time country music.

Born April 14, 1939, to Maurinee Sudreth in West Virginia. Married the love of her life Kenneth (Kenny) Hitchcock May 1, 1966. She is survived by her Children Laura Francisco (Kentucky), Julie Chapman (Lake Isabella CA), James (Jim) Hitchcock (Lake Kickapoo Texas), Grandchildren Michael & Clifford Francisco (Kentucky), Chester Chapman (Carolina) (Tehachapi CA), Billy Chapman (Megan) (Lake Isabella CA), Makenzie (Mak) Chapman (Lake Isabella), Two brothers Fred (Sparky) Burm and James Stine both of Michigan.

She left behind many friends at her home, that she loved for more than 40 years in Lake Kickapoo, Holliday, Texas, as well as friends old and new here in the Kern River Valley where she lived for about 7 years (1968-75). Predeceased in death by her mother – Marueen Stine, her husband – Kenneth Hitchcock.

Memorial may be sent to any Alzheimer’s/Dementia Foundations or Lake Kickapoo Volunteer Fire Department in Texas.
