Dorothy Caroline 'Carol' Cook

In loving memory of an extraordinary woman, Dorothy Caroline “Carol” Cook, of the Spring Creek Community, peacefully gained her wings and reunited with her husband Jack, at the age of 84 on Dec, 3, 2023, while surrounded by her loved ones.

A Celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held on Saturday, Dec. 9, at 1 p.m. at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

Carol was born in Metamora, Illinois on Nov. 22, 1939 to Harvey and Dorothy Brown of Hobbs, New Mexico.

She married the love of her life, Jackie “Button” Cook, on March 7, 1959 in Hobbs, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 2006.

Carol was a beacon of love and strength, she was not only an amazing grandmother but also a cherished mother, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. Carol embraced life with grace and kindness, her warmth radiating through every gesture and every smile. As a grandmother, her love knew no bounds, creating a tapestry of memories that will forever be etched in our hearts. As a mom, she exemplified selflessness and resilience, imparting invaluable lessons that will resonate for generations to come. Though she may be physically absent, her spirit lives on in the love and compassion she cultivated within her family. May Carol find eternal peace, and may her legacy of love continue to inspire us all.

Carol is survived by her daughter Lisa Stillwell (Arturo); stepchildren Willard, Stevie, Angela, Donna, Jackie and Sena; her grandchildren Crystal, David, Tito, Neto, Katie, Amber, Nicole, Brenton, Melanie, Shelly, Lindsey, Heidi, Gerber and Jeannie; her great-grandchildren Serena, Jaden, Santiago, Joseph, Jack, Nicholas, Gabby, Azalea, Bryleigh, Isabella, McKenna; great-great grandchildren, Adalee and Kohen; her brother Ernie and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, husband, brother, Dwayne and daughter, Jackie O Izaguirre.
