Florence Evon Koetter

Florence Evon Koetter passed from this earth on Tuesday, April 9, at the age of 86 in Norman, Okla.

Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 21, at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Scotland, with Reverend Michael Moloney, OFS Parochial Administrator of St. Mary’s and St. Boniface Catholic Church, officiating. Interment will be at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery in Scotland under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Florence was born on Dec. 27, 1935 in Scotland to Frank and Katherine (Schenk) Luig. She attended Archer City Public Schools and graduated in 1953.

In 1954, Florence married Kenneth Koetter. Together, they raised six children and remained married for sixty-four years until his death in 2019.

Florence was, first and foremost, a devoted wife and mother. She was resourceful and diligent to provide for her family the very best she could with what she had. Florence served God, her family and her community tire-lessly.

Florence is survived by her sister Dorothy Scheffe of Ft. Worth; daughter, Debra Tyler and husband, Robert of Houston; son, Greg Koetter and wife Teresa of Divide, Colo.; daughter, Karrie Bajoras and husband Bill of Huntsville, Ala.; son, Kenny Koetter and wife Tara of Norman, Okla.; son, Brandon Koetter and wife Darla of Jenks, Okla.; along with sixteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Florence is preceded in death by her parents, brother, Ed Luig, sister, Gladys Meurer, brother, Raymond Luig, sister, Helen Buchanan, as well as her son, Sydney Jay Koetter.
