Geneva Huffman Wood, age 85, lifelong resident of Archer City, passed away Saturday, July 2, in Olney.

Services was held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, in the chapel of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City with Roger Deerinwater of Archer City officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

Geneva was born Jan. 28, 1937 to the late George Washington Huffman and Inez Berryman Huffman in Archer City.

She married the love of her life, Max “Boe” Wood, Sr. on Jan. 14, 1953 in Archer City. He preceded her in death on Jan. 11, 2009.

Geneva loved singing at Jamborees and the Archer City Nursing Home. Her favorite hobbies were photography and genealogy. Geneva loved to share stories with her family and friends about her family. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Archer City and the Women of Faith Sunday School Class.

Geneva will be greatly missed by two sons, Max Wood Jr. of Wichita Falls, John David “J.D.” Wood of Henrietta; two daughters, Georgia Salas and husband, Tino and Margaret Clemens, of Archer City; one brother, George Huffman and wife, Loyce of Archer City; two sisters, Lillian Wheeler and husband, Perry and Nita Lou Lewis and husband, Lynn of Archer City; sister-in-law, Sandra Huffman of northern Archer County; twelve grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.

She was also preceded in death three grandchildren, Kelli, Josie and Cody; three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Hailey and Dalton; brother, Delbert Huffman; daughters-in-law, Robin Wood and Vickie Wood; and son-in-law, Mike Tekaucic.
