J. E. Metcalf, age 94, of Wichita Falls, formerly of Archer City, passed away Friday, Oct.30, in a Wichita Falls hospital.

A Memorial service will be held Jan. 7, 2021 at the Archer City Cemetary. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

J.E. was born Jan. 7, 1926 in Roscoe to the late Jesse Metcalf and Eva Mae King Metcalf.

He honorably served his country in the United States Navy and was a Seabee during World War II. After his tour of duty, he was an oilfield worker for many years.

He married Clella Mae Wolf on Jan. 7, 1950 in Cuero. She preceded him in death on July 20, 2002.

In, 1954, J.E. and Clella adopted their daughter, Barbara. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in Wichita Falls. J.E. loved traveling in his motorhome, dancing and walking. He just loved life in general.

Survivors include his daughter, Barbara Lundquist and husband, Claude Karl of Papillion, Neb.; two granddaughters, Wendy Lee Harlow of Millard, Neb. and Ann Marie Wilcoxen and husband Ronald of Omaha, Neb.; three great-grandchildren, Rachael Ann Loke Kramer and husband, Colin of Omaha, Neb., Sarah Lee Loke Volker and husband, Darin of Papillion, Neb., and Kenneth Karl Loke of Millard, Neb. his longtime lady friend and companion, Helen Shaffer of Wichita Falls; and several nieces and nephews.
