Lena D. Overbay, 84 year old resident of Boise City, Oklahoma, passed away on Sept. 26, 2025.

A memorial service was held at 1 p.m. Oct. 7, 2025 in Oklahoma. Burial was held Nov. 1, 2025 in the Archer City Cemetery.

Lena, one of nine children, was born in Oklahoma and was raised in Archer City, Texas. She graduated from Archer City High School.

Lena or “Dee”, as she was known to those who knew and loved her, had a lifelong passion of reading, spending time with family and most recently taking care of her fur baby, Sadie.

Dee’s first marriage was to Bruce Burke and to this union twin sons were born…Floyd and Lloyd. On Dec. 17, 1991, she married Lee Overbay of Boise City. To this marriage she gained four step-children, Terry, Tom, Tammy and Tracy who she loved as her very own.

She worked as store manager of Love’s Convenience Store for twenty plus years and went to work at No Man’s Land Beef Jerky upon their opening until they closed in 2024.

Dee was preceded in death by her parents, George Washington Petit and Lena D. Cocanower Petit; husband, Lee Overbay; step-son, Terry Overbay; and son, Floyd Boyd.

Survivors include her son, Lloyd Boyd and wife, Merrie of Wichita Falls; step-children, Tom Overbay and wife, Teresa of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Tammy Bird and husband, Brad of Meade, Kansas and Tracy Overbay and wife, Jean of Albuquerque, New Mexico. She is also survived by nineteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; two sisters, Corine Bettencourt of Kentucky and Ruby Hopkins of Archer City; a host of nieces and nephews and many dearly loved friends.
