She loved playing cards and dominoes at the Windthorst Senior Citizens Center. Mildred taught all of her grandchildren to play canasta and countless hours were spent around her kitchen table with card players ranging from 6 years old to her 90 years. She also taught her daughters and sons-in-law to play Sheephead and they continue that tradition. Mildred enjoyed traveling with her husband and continued to travel with her family after his death. She was an excellent cook and was known for her apple pie that was baked in a paper bag.
