Body

Oscar "Joe" Stallcup, 83, of Scotland, passed away peacefully at his home on Thursday, Aug. 26.

Graveside Services were held at St. Boniface Cemetery on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 2 p.m. under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home.

The family received friends from 6 until 7 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 27, at Aulds Funeral Home in Archer City.

Joe was born on Nov. 6, 1937 in Wichita Falls to Oscar and Seraphia Stallcup. Joe was a resident of Scotland all of his life. After schooling, he picked up canned milk from Scotland and Windthorst dairies for years. He then went to work for Powell Lumber Company hauling lumber. After that, he went to work for Oak Farms and was there for thirty-two years, until his retirement. He then continued ranching and later drilled and produced water wells. Joe was one of the hardest working men around. He knew how to get things done and he loved to tell you how to get things done. His sons are just chips off of the old block.

Joe was preceded in death by his mother and father, Oscar and Seraphia Stallcup, Carolyn and Jean Stallcup, his brother, Jim, and his son, Randy. We know Randy welcomed him into those pearly gates with his arms wide open.

He is survived by his three sons, Ronnie and his wife Priscilla of Scotland,, Royce and his wife, Marty of Seymour, and Robert and his wife Gina of Scotland,; his brother, Harold and his wife, Patsy of Scotland, eight grandkids and eighteen great-grandkids.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Wichita Falls, Cindy Akers, Linda Veitenheimer, Yolanda Lopez and LeeAnn Ibars for being his primary caretakers during his last months on earth, which allowed him to remain in the comfort of his own home. The family refers to these precious women as Joe's angels on earth. They will always be a part of our family.

For those desiring, memorial contributions may be sent to your local fire department.
