Sammy Joseph Crutcher

Sammy Joseph Crutcher, 77, of Archer City, Texas passed away peacefully at home on Feb.4, 2026.

He was born on July 30, 1948 in Olney to Gene and Pat Crutcher. Crutcher graduated from Archer City high school in 1967. He graduated from Ranger Junior College and then attended Midwestern State University. He went on to work in the oil business in and around Archer County for over 40 years. He was avid MSU fan and loved The Cowboys and Texas Rangers.

Crutcher is survived by his wife Brenda, four sons; Scott and Dawnmarie Crutcher of Austin, Brett and Jennifer Crutcher of Portland, Shane and Johna Wright of Archer City and Chris of Nocona, eleven grandchildren, two brothers; David, of Archer City and Kirk of Amarillo.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Gene and Pat of Archer City and his brother Preston of Wichita Falls.

A “Celebration of Life” memorial was held in his memory in April by his family and loved ones.
