Sarah Lucille Ensey Hasley, age 95, of Hillsboro, Texas formerly of Archer City passed away July 20, 2024 in Hillsboro.

Graveside services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 27, in the Archer City Cemetery with Pastor Jon Curry of Grace Community Church of Archer City officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

The family receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday, July 26, at Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.

Lucille was born March 29, 1929, in Antelope, Texas to George Richard and Sina Ellen Canada Ensey. She graduated from Archer City High School in 1945. At the age of 50 attended the University of Texas -Austin and McClennen County Community College to receive her bachelor’s degree in business as well as her Nursing Facility Administrator License.

Lucille married Paul Hasley Aug. 11, 1946 in Archer City and together they had one daughter, Radona Gayle Hasley McKerlie.

She was a bookkeeper, nursing home administrator and in her retirement was the owner operator of Archer Flower and Gifts.

In 1999, she left Archer City to move to Godley to be closer to her daughter and grandchildren, Sarah and Shelly. She enjoyed being with her great-grandchildren always attending sports and school events. She loved the holidays, especially Thanksgiving and Christmas with her large family that got even larger once great-great-grandchildren came along.

She was a strong and beautiful matriarch of her family, loved and adored by many. She always remembered everyone’s birthday and anniversary and never let a special occasion of any kind pass without sending a card of well wishes or congratulations.

Lucille was preceded in death by her parents, George and Sina Canada Ensey, siblings Opal Ensey Lyles & Howard Lyles, George (Sonny) Ensey Jr. and Joyce Ensey Riggs as well as her daughter, Radona.

She is lovingly survived by her grandchildren, Sarah & husband, Christopher Abraham and Shelly McKerlie; great-grandchildren, Kalah & Brody, Jamey & Kaylee, Fisher & Hope, Layne, Zeth, Kooper, McKensey and Emma; great-great-grandchildren, Hayden, Eli & Mylah She also abundantly loved a host of very special nieces, nephews and friends.
