Steven Wesley Tredway, from Georgetown, Texas was a devoted husband, father, stepfather, grandfather, son, uncle, brother and friend passed away at home with his wife, sister and stepdaughter by his side, on Jan. 16, 2025 at the age of 67.

Born Sep. 22, 1957, in Wichita Falls, to Iris Janice (Crawford) Rhea and Clyde Wesley Tredway, both preceding him in death.

Steve, his brothers and sister, mother and stepfather moved to Austin in 1974. His parents opened Hot Wheels skating rink in South Austin shortly thereafter. Steve was a talented speed and art skater for many of his younger years, winning numerous awards.

Steve started in sales for Budweiser then moved into the printing industry where he was very successful and won multiple achievement awards. Later, he went on the road as a long-haul truck driver. He cherished the independence it afforded him to explore the United States and the tranquility if offered.

Steve and Janelle met in 1998 in Austin, and were married on July 17, 1999, in Durango, CO. Following their marriage, Steve returned to the sales sector within the welding industry. He worked for various welding and gas firms and was instrumental in opening the Round Rock Welding Supply store for Dupuy Oxygen & Supply out of Waco.

Steve concluded his career were in the field of construction as an inspector. He excelled in this profession and gained extensive knowledge and earned numerous certifications. He worked on several significant transportation projects throughout Texas. Steve enjoyed the jobs he worked on and made many friends both at work and with those in the campgrounds at his jobsites.

When not working, Steve enjoyed hot rod restoration, hunting, spending time in Lampasas and saltwater fishing. His love of stray animals has become a legend amongst friends and family, as he has offered shelter to numerous animals he encountered during his journeys throughout Texas Steve lived a passionate life personally and professionally. He will be missed by many whose lives were made richer by his presence.

Steve is survived by his wife, Catherine Janelle Tredway of Georgetown, TX, son Steven Wesley (Blair) Tredway, Jr., of Pipe Creek, , step-daughter Brandi (Ben) Beach of Bastrop, TX, sister Kelisa (Buck) Buchanan of Marble Falls, TX, brother Tommy (Claudette) Rhea and daughter Heather of Lometa, TX, brother Brian Rhea of Buda, TX, grandson Steven Wesley Tredway, III of Lago Vista, TX, grandson Bradley Tredway of Bandera, TX, niece Amanda (Zack) Kussad and their three girls of Houston, TX , brother-in-law Brad (Angelic) Sibley of Gautier, MS and their 4 children, and his mother and father inlaws Stan and Carol Sibley of Georgetown, TX.
