Wayland Dean Cowley, 78, of Bluegrove, Texas, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025. A private family service will be held at a later date.

Wayland was born on March 27, 1947, in Wichita Falls, Texas, to Vernon and Jessie (Coker) Cowley. Wayland married Johnnie Perkins on July 14, 1968, in Bluegrove. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Verna Lee Seaberry.

Survivors include his wife, Johnnie, of Bluegrove; daughters, Deana Keck and husband, Les, of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Marie Means of Virginia; grandson, Michael Cowley, and wife, Cori, of Scotland; granddaughter, Kealsey Edin and husband, Geard, of Duncan, Oklahoma; great-grandsons, Wayland, Hayes, and Creece Cowley, and Josh Edin; sister, Vaudine Keel, of Wichita Falls; several nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Wayland’s most cherished treasures in life were his great-grandsons, who he dearly loved, and his constant companion, Capt’n, the dog.
