Belcher set to lead Windthorst XC
Cameron Belcher was a State Qualifier last year as a freshman and the Trojanette Cross Country team finished second in the District 9-2A race last October. Unless some additional runners step up, according to Cross Country Coach Scotty Lofland, the four Trojanette runners will compete only as individuals.
After last year’s first place finishes at the district and regional meets, Belcher should make another appearance at the UIL State Meet this November.
Her teammates are sophomore Abby Schroeder and seniors Brenna Anderle and Jenna Veitenheimer. All three finished in the top 20 at the regional meet last year so as individuals they could make a run at another regional appearance. Another State Meet qualifier to join Belcher is certainly not out of the question.
The Trojan Cross Country hopes will rest on two freshmen, Carson Anderle and Nolan Schreiber. Both will be aiming for a top 10 finish at the District 9-2A Meet in Seymour on Oct. 13 to advance to the regional competition.
