Trojan Basketball Recap
Windthorst (14-13) claimed a postseason berth with a thrilling overtime win over rival Archer City but unfortunately came up short in the bi-district round against Cisco. The Trojans will be on the hunt for a new coach for the 2022-23 season.
Brayden Berend earned the league’s Sixth Man of the Year award, coming off the bench to average 7.8 points and 5.4 rebounds per game for the Trojans.
Cooper Wolf and Zane Hackley picked up first team all-district honors. Wolf led the team with 10.6 points per game to go along with 4.6 rebounds and 2.7 steals. Hackley averaged 8.4 points, 3.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.9 steals.
Logan Cope collected second team honors after posting 10.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game for the Trojans.
Kolby Teakell was named to the all-defensive team while Thomas McCann earned honorable mention honors.
