Windthorst, St. Mary’s to celebrate 132 years

St. Mary’s Church in Windthorst is celebrating its 132nd Birthday with a celebration the weekend of June 2, 2024.

We would like to invite you to our activities. We will kick it off with a Blooper Ball tournament May 23-25 at the Scotland City Park. Contact Robert Baumer to sign up at 940-782-3465. 

We will also be hosting a Golf tournament at the Archer City Country Club Saturday, June 8 with a start time of 7 a.m.. To pre-register for the golf event please call David Veitenheimer at 940-237-2204.

On Sunday, June 2, the activities include the Dairy Derby 5K Run/ Health Walk at 8 a.m., followed by the Children’s races (age 1 through 10) at noon, all at the Windthorst Football field. You can Pre-register at www.runsignup.com/Race/TX/Windthorst/Windthorstdairyderby or late registration will be from 7-7:45 am for the 5K Run/Walk and 11- 11:45 am for the Children’s Race at the football field concession stand.

On Sunday, there will also be a Horseshoe Tournament with registration at 9:30 a.m. and starting at 10 a.m. (contact Samantha @ 940-636-5755). A Cornhole Tournament will also be held in the afternoon. These both will take place behind the Pavilion on the school grounds.

There will be food booths opening up at 11:00 a.m. They will have a variety of food choices including German Sausage, Hamburgers, French Fries, and Mexican Food. There will be many game booths, Turtle Races, County Store, Train Rides, Sweet Stroll and lots more open from 12:30 – 3:30 p.m. on Sunday.

A Live Auction will start at 4:00 p.m. under the pavilion behind the Windthorst School with the winners of the raffle being announced at 6:00 p.m. then continuing on with the remainder of the auction.
