Archer County Sheriff’s Weekly Report

The Sheriff’s Office received 113 Calls for Service during the past seven day period ending Sunday, Sept. 6. On the day of this report, there were 31 individuals incarcerated in the Archer County Jail consisting of 27 men and four women. 34 individuals consisting of 27 men and seven women were arrested and booked into the Archer County Jail during August.

Don’t let the 3-0 score fool you. Holliday needed every point in a sweep of Archer City on the road Tuesday, Sept. 1. The Lady Eagles held on for a 30-28, 25-19, 28-26 win over the Lady Cats to sweep both Archer City and Windthorst in the county rivalry.

Archer County COVID-19 update

Archer County Judge Randy Jackson announced the county had 60 positive cases with seven of them being active in a press release Tuesday, Sept. 8. The county also reported its first COVID-19 related fatality.

Early voting beg ins Sept. 14 for special election

The election calendar for 2020 has been full of party primaries and there is a lot of anticipation as the Nov. 3 General Election approaches. However, Governor Abbott, by Special Order, has established an additional election day to fill the seat vacated by District 30 State Senator Pat Fallon. Fallon resigned to run for a U.S. Congressional Representative office.
