A mass of national and statewide confusion is swirling around voting in the Tuesday, Nov. 3 General Election. Much of the confusion springs from lawsuits filed by different parties with a stake in the election. Texas government officials and election officials all over the state are working hard to insure a fair and complete vote count.

Windthorst ISD names first six weeks A-Honor Roll

Windthorst ISD released its Junior High and High School A-Honor Roll for the first six weeks of school. 6th Grade: Leah Anderle, Adam Barton, Brock Belcher, Brodie Belz, Liliana Colchado, Ayla Melton, Braiden Messineo, Avery Schroeder, Heidi Tackett, Colby Vieth and Jackson Zicarelli.

The Sheriff’s Office received 123 Calls for Service during the past seven day period ending Sunday, Oct.4. On the day of this report there were 29 individuals incarcerated in the Archer County Jail consisting of 25 men and fourwomen.

Windthorst stalls against No. 2 Hamlin, 14-0

Missed opportunities haunted the fourth-ranked Windthorst Trojans (5-1) in their 14-0 loss at home to second-ranked Hamlin. The Trojans pushed the ball deep into Pied Pipers’ territory on five separate occasions but were held out of the endzone.

Quanah blows past ‘cats in the second half, 38-20

Quanah quarterback Landin Leija combined for 490 yards of total offense and six touchdowns as the Indians scored 26 unanswered points to close out the game in a 38-20 win over Archer City on Friday, Oct. 2. The Wildcats (2-3, 0-1) suffer their second-straight setback and fall to 0-1 in District 6-2A action.
