Tuesday, March 23 Holliday 7, Henrietta 1 Addison Lindemann went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and two RBI to lead the Lady Eagles to a 7-1 win on the road at Henrietta. Lindemann (15-1) scattered seven hits and a walk for an unearned run while punching out 10 to earn the win in the circle.

Dean Hinton with Corlett, Probst and Boyd presented preliminary plans for street repairs to the council at the Lakeside City Council meeting Tuesday, March 23. Hinton only projected $276,000 in projects for overlaying, seal coat and patch work on his initial walk through of the city’s streets.

Archer City’s Mallory Maxwell and Holliday’s Sarah Cowan picked up all-state recognition from the Texas Girls Coaches Association for their performances on the hardwood this winter. Maxwell led the Lady Cats to an outright district championship.

On Tuesday March 23, there was discussion by the Archer City city council to move the 1999 Ford ambulance to the water department. “That old ambulance we’ve had since ‘99, we were going to get rid of it back when they started the wind farms out here, but the wind farm group came up and wanted us to do their safety and things like that,” City Manager George Huffman said.

Tuesday, March 23 Archer City 14, Olney 4 Archer City rallied for 10 runs in the bottom of the sixth to blow open a 4-4 tie into a 14-4 victory over Olney. Ty Bates (1-1) tossed 6.0 strong innings, allowing four runs (one earned) on three hits and six walks while punching out 10.

Hemmis celebrate 60 years

Arthur and Helen Hemmi celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary with a trip to Broken Bow, Okla., in June 2020. The event was planned and hosted by their five children and spouses: Ginger White, Belinda and Tom O’Brien, Bryan and Kim Hemmi, Pamela and Lloyd Wolf Jr., Stacey and Chad Steinberger. Also celebrating the milestone were their 16 grandchildren, spouses along with nine great-grandchildren. The couple were married on Feb. 10, 1960 and have been blessed with 61 years of married life together in 2021. Arthur is a retired dairy farmer from Hemmi Dairy and Helen is a housewife. The couple are members of Saint Boniface Catholic Church in Scotland. Both enjoy spending time at family get-togethers and outings with their children & families. They also enjoy playing cards and dominoes with family and friends.
