Last Saturday night at the Royal Theater was an historic event. The Archer City Writers Workshop hosted A Literary Tribute to Larry McMurtry. Authors and academics from across the country gathered to deliver remarks and read excerpts of essays offered for the occasion.

The first item of new business last Monday night at the Holliday City Council meeting was discussion, consideration and action on an Ordinance concerning “Tiny Houses.” Coming up with a definition for a tiny house for the purposes of an ordinance proved challenging. What impact the structures would have on the community was uncertain.

Windthorst junior quarterback Logan Cope tossed five TD passes and ran for another in the Trojans’ 45-0 win over Hamlin on Friday, Oct. 1. The Trojans avenged a 14-0 setback from last season’s state title run, the only blemish on their resume a year ago.
