Holliday’s Skylar Rivers signed her National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, Feb. 2, to continue her academic and volleyball career at Amarillo College.

Holliday’s Kinley Marek was back in action behind the plate as the Lady Eagles scrimmaged Rider at Sunrise Optimist Field on Monday, Jan. 31.

The Tuesday, March 1, 2022, Republican and Democratic primary elections will be the first of elections to be held in Archer County throughout the year. The primary will determine the party’s candidates for the General Election in on Nov. 8. In some races in Archer County the winner of the primary will run unopposed in the General Election.

The Association of Texas Small School Bands is pleased to announce the selection of the 2022 ATSSB All- State Band. More than 10,000 high school band students from across Texas auditioned in twenty-two different regions for a place in their respective all-region bands. The top chairs in each region were selected for all-state honors.

Pot culture. Many people swear by it. Many pots add a decorative aspect to the landscape outdoors and indoors. We can also fashion pots from any old item like an old sink, wash tub, bathtub, horse trough, etc. My favorites have always been hollow logs. Then you can fashion your own pots out of sun dried clay, hyper tuffa, or if you own a potter’s wheel and have a kiln you can really have some fun. Nila had that skill and we did have a pretty large kiln for a while until carpel tunnel in her wrists forced us to sell our equipment. Even P.J. and I got into the act of molding our own pots. I miss those days.

The Sheriff’s Office received 102 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 26 inmates and five being female in the Archer County Jail.

Jesus felt alone and abandoned by his father, and his human nature was crying out. People can sometimes feel forsaken, too. All of us have experienced feelings as though God abandons us at some point in our lives.
