Official local results for the March 1 primary are pending the canvassing of votes which is set for 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 10, in the Archer County Elections Office.

The Windthorst ISD school board discussed the need to restore the junior high school roof and the cost associated with that project during its board meeting Monday, March 7. The district had a roofing company come out and look at the roof after Maintenance Supervisor Dennis Koetter made a recommendation for them to do so.

Archer County will be in high demand of basketball coaches during the offseason after last week saw quite the shakeup. Archer City head girls coach Amy Huseman is hanging up her whistle for good after 20 years of coaching.

On Monday, March 7, in the 97th District Court, Steven Ray Thomas pleaded guilty to a reduced charge in a plea bargain with District Attorney Casey Polhemus. The original case was dismissed in exchange for a guilty plea to a lesser charge of injury child/elderly/disable with intent of bodily injury, a Third-Degree Felony.
