The Sheriff’s Office received 180 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 31 inmates and 6 being female in the Archer County Jail.

Three Archer City High School journalists competed at the state UIL academic meet on May 6 at the University of Texas and earned four medals. Junior Kadence Huffman received the silver medal in editorial writing and placed fifth in copy editing.
Teachers and parents spoke about a lack of transparency from the district administration and concerns with the junior high curriculum among other issues during the Windthorst ISD school board meeting Tuesday, May 10.
Photos were chosen from our county contest in January to advance. Juniors and Intermediate age 4-H members advance to a district contest, while Senior age 4-H members advance directly to a state level contest, held in June.
