The Archer City Wildcats took on the Seymour Panthers in district action on Friday, Feb. 2. The 2-4 Wildcats were fighting for a playoff spot coming into the game and looked to make that jump over the fourthplace Petrolia Pirates, while the Panthers looked secure the second-place spot with a victory.

The 2024-2026 University Interscholastic League realignment and reclassification was released on Thursday, Feb. 1. With both teams starting their second half of district play, the Wildcats looked to bag their second win in district and continue to contend for the fourth-place spot that was held by the Petrolia Pirates, while Olney was still searching for their first win in district.

The Windthorst Trojanettes welcomed the Petrolia Lady Pirates in district action on Tuesday, Jan 30. The 7-1 Trojanettes looked to strengthen their grasp on second place in district with a win over a Lady Pirates team that was fighting to keep their fourth-place spot. Petrolia kept the game close in the first quarter, but it was all Windthorst for the rest of the game, with the Trojanettes winning comfortably 77-21.

As we begin a new month, we look toward Ash Wednesday and the season of Lent. Lent is a season of forty days, not counting Sundays, which (this year) begins on Ash Wednesday, February 14th and ends on Holy Saturday, March 30th.
