Archer City Pool Splash Day set for Saturday

The Archer City Pool will open for the summer on Saturday, May 24 from 1-6 p.m. Splash day will take place that day and admission will be free to the public. Beginning Sunday, May 25, regular admission charges will apply.

ACISD announces Class of '25 Scholarships

Archer City ISD students have been awarded over $215,445 in scholarship money to date ACISD offers $2,000 Wind Farm scholarships to all students who complete their entire junior/senior years at ACHS and enroll in a trade school, 2-, or 4-year college.

Lakeside City swears in new council members

The Lakeside City Council swore in new council members and acted on amending a sex offenders’ ordinance during its council meeting on Monday, May 19. Councilwoman atlarge Kim Williams and new councilman District 1, Place 2 Paul Renick took their oaths of office near the start of the meeting.

Frances “Grandmommy” Hoffman, age 102, passed away Saturday morning, May 17, 2025, in Wichita Falls, Texas, Vigil Service and Rosary will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, May 20, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Windthorst. Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church with Reverend Michael Moloney, OFS, Pastor of St. Mary’s and St. Boniface Catholic Churches, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home of Archer City.
