The Sheriff’s Office received 171 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 31 inmates and 2 being female in the Archer County Jail. On Monday, Deputies and Lakeside VFD were called to a roll-over accident on HWY 79. The caller stated that a vehicle rolled-over and had done a lot of damage to the fence and had broken a power pole. Kellar named new County Auditor

Cristi Kellar was sworn in as the new Archer County Auditor by 97th District Court Judge Trish Coleman Byars on Wednesday, May 1. Kellar replaces outgoing county auditor Paul Wylie who retired from the position at the end of April.

HISD purchase s new phone/ PA systems

The Holliday ISD school board approved a bid for a new voice over IP phone system and PA system for all school buildings during their meeting on Monday, May 13. Superintendent Cody Carroll said the need for both systems stem from Alyssa’s law which requires phones in each classroom, so everyone has the ability to call 911 if needed.

County approves new phone system for sheriff's office

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court approved the purchase of a new telephone system for the sheriff's office during its meeting on Monday, May 13. Sheriff Jack Curd told the court that the current telephone system was moved over to the office when the new law enforcement was built 13 years ago.
