Hello, I’m Clifton Russell, and I am running for Archer County Commissioner Pct. 3.
The Attitude of God Our Father toward us as seen through the gestures of Jesus in His Public ministry.

In our recent Sunday Gospel readings we came across Jesus healing Simon Peter’s mother in law (Mark 1:29-39), and again in the healing of a Leper (Mk 1:40-45). In these encounters we observe the attitude and style of God Our Father in the attitude and gestures of Jesus. Remember, Jesus reveals in John’s Gospel “I and the Father are One” (John 10:30) and “the Son can do only what He sees the Father doing” (Jn 5: 19). Jesus imitates His Father. Paul will later remind us to “Be imitators of me, as I am of Christ.” [In the Catholic Tradition saints are called saints because in some heroic manner and by the grace of God they became imitators of Christ]. We are all called to this imitation.
Archer City, Windthorst get realignment assignment

The 2024-2026 University Interscholastic League realignment and reclassification was released on Thursday, Feb. 1. The new realignment, which is based off the number of students in a school district, saw new districts and regions for football, basketball, and volleyball across all high school classifications in Texas.
Panthers claw past Cats

The Archer City Wildcats took on the Seymour Panthers in district action on Friday, Feb. 2. The 2-4 Wildcats were fighting for a playoff spot coming into the game and looked to make that jump over the fourthplace Petrolia Pirates, while the Panthers looked secure the second-place spot with a victory.
Depleted Lady Cats fall to Olney
Body
The Archer City Lady Cats hosted the Olney Lady Cubs in district action on Tuesday, Jan. 30. With both teams still in the race for the fourthplace spot and just a few games left, a loss all but seals the deal on either team’s playoff hopes.
