Unofficial results from the March 5 primaries show the Republican candidates for the November election and that the County Commissioner Pct. 3 race is headed for a runoff on May 28.

In the county attorney race, Jordyn Berend received 1,440 votes (66.76%) to fend off Judy Rosenberger, who received 563 votes (26.10%), and Dan Branum, who received 154 votes (7.14%) to secure the Republican nomination. Conner Deen has already announced his intentions to run as an independent against Berend for the position in November.

In the county commissioner pct.1 race, incumbent Wade Scrabrough received 457 votes (75.04%) to defeat former commissioner Richard Shelley, who received 152 votes (24.96%) to secure the Republican nomination. Scarbrough does not have a challenger in the November general election and will be sworn in for another four-year term in January.

In the county commissioner pct. 3 race, Kendall Coleman received 178 votes (30.96%), Abby Abernathy received 155 votes (26.96%), David Shewmake received 111 votes (19.30%), Clifton Russell received 66 votes (11.48%), and Lanny Hubbard received 65 votes (11.30%). Since no candidate received more than 50% of the votes, the top two vote-getters will be in a runoff election on May 28.

In the county constable Pct. 1 race, incumbent Doug Strange received 482 votes (76.03%) to defeat challenger Chase Allison who received 152 votes (23.97%). Strange does not have a challenger in the November general election and will be sworn in for another four-year term in January.

In the 97th district attorney race, incumbent Casey Hall (716 votes, 34.96%) was defeated by challenger Katie Woods Boggeman who received 1,332 (65.04%) of the votes in Archer County. Boggeman also received the majority of votes in Clay and Montague counties to win the nomination,

In the  Archer County Republican Party Pct. In the 3 Chair race, Cori Cowley received 63 votes (52.94%) to defeat Vincent J. Land, who got 56 votes (47.06%).

Tax Assessor-Collector Dawn Vieth, Sheriff Jack Curd, Constable Pct. 4 Brett Hoff, Constable Pct. 3 Diana Patterson, Constable Pct. 2 Donald Stevens, Justice of the Peace Pct. 4 Missy Hoegger and District Judge Trish Coleman. Byars all ran unoppoosed to secure the Republican nominations. They will also face no democratic challengers in November and will be sworn into another term in January.

All results are unofficial until they canvassed on March 14.
