County proclaims National 4 -H Week for Oct. 2- 8 in Archer County

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court voted to recognize and proclaim Oct. 2 through Oct. 8 as national 4-H week in Archer County during its meeting Monday, Sept. 26. The commissioners also voted to approve the flying of the 4-H flag under the Texas flag at the Archer County courthouse during National 4-H week.

Dear friend in Christ, Faith is contagious! This is one good reason for Christians meeting together. The person who thinks of their religion as entirely a private affair, feeling no need of the fellowship of the church, is missing out on the great benefits of the church community.

Archer City Book Buddy program needs volunteers

The Archer City Elementary School Book Buddy Program is looking for volunteers to take 30 minutes a week to help with the development and growth of an elementary student. The book buddy program was started in 2016 by Vicki Davis and Jessica Deerinwater.

We are living in a time where people seem to be “on edge” and it doesn’t have to be that way. Anger is on display in a fight for parking spaces, a fastfood order not being correct and even something as small as a package being one day late. There’s a new phrase for that…. “They got Triggered”! There must be a kinder way to get through life.
