The Archer City Council discussed an update about creating a 501c3 nonprofit for the ambulance operation and whether to seek bids for the operation for the next fiscal year. Former Mayor and Ambulance Liaison Jake Truette gave the update to the board.

Over a span of 4 days, 30 4-H members from across the state of Texas attended the Texas 4-H Council Training. Two elected representatives from each of the 12 4-H districts, plus 6 at-large delegates, were present.

I still remember the first time I had the opportunity to perform in Archer City, Texas, way back in 1998. Abby Abernathy's Lazy Boy Supper Club was hosting the show, with the popular concert series now serving as fundraisers for the reconstruction of the Royal Theater.

A petition has been filed with the 97th District Court to remove District Attorney Casey Hall until her theft case is resolved. Hall was indicted for theft of property greater than $2,500 less than $30,000 from Montague County on Monday, July 8.

Jackie Watson opened the returning Texasville Opry last Saturday night as a singer, but more importantly as the show’s producer. Her road to the producer role began last November.
