Trish Coleman Byars, of Windthorst, was sworn in to serve as the 97th District Court Judge, by retired 97th District Court Judge Jack A. McGaughey during a ceremony at the Clay County Courthouse on Friday, July 28.

Lakeside City Administrator John Strenski announced he was resigning from his position effective immediately at the end of the Lakeside City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 25. Strenski was named as interim city administrator on April 1, 2021, and dropped the interim title two months later on June 1.

Like many students leaving home for college next month, Katy Wolf, daughter of Kurt and Summer Wolf, will leave behind a familiar childhood home, beloved pets, friends and family. Unlike the rest of her peers, though, the recent graduate of Windthorst High School will leave behind her personally refurbished and award-winning tractors, a 1941 Farmall A and a 1948 J.I.

The Archer City ISD School board began discussions of the 23-24 fiscal year tax rate and budget during its board meeting on Monday, July 24. Superintendent CD Knobloch said the district’s expenditures should be comparable to this year’s budget.
