Lakeside City Administrator John Strenski announced he was resigning from his position effective immediately at the end of the Lakeside City Council meeting on Tuesday, July 25. Strenski was named as interim city administrator on April 1, 2021, and dropped the interim title two months later on June 1.

Lakeside City to amend lot sizes, flag lots

The Lakeside City Council heard from members of the public about a proposed replating of a property in town and requests to enlarge minimum lot sizes during its council meeting on Tuesday, July 25. Five individuals spoke during the public comment section of the meeting to voice their displeasure with a proposed replat of 125 Royal Drive.

County continues discussions on Senate Bill 22, budget

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court continued discussion Senate Bill 22, the 23-24 budget and tax rate in a special called meeting Monday, July 31. The commissioners would have to raise the Sheriff’s salary from $65,500 to $75,000 to qualify for the Senate Bill 22 grant.

Unlike the rest of her peers, though, the recent graduate of Windthorst High School will leave behind her personally refurbished and award-winning tractors, a 1941 Farmall A and a 1948 J.I.

ACISD discusses 23-24 budget

The Archer City ISD School board began discussions of the 23-24 fiscal year tax rate and budget during its board meeting on Monday, July 24. Superintendent CD Knobloch said the district’s expenditures should be comparable to this year’s budget.
