Archer Public Librar y to host book signing

The Archer Public Library is proud to announce it will be hosting a book signing for authors Jim Black and Jim Lewis on Wednesday, July 17 from Noon until 3:00 P.M. The Archer City natives have collaborated on two works—Life with Bingo and Ezra. In addition to these, Black will have copies of all of his other books on hand for purchase. These include River Season, Miracle on the Gridiron, the recently published Stones of Summer and others.

One of the most misunderstood scriptures in God’s Word is found in I Corinthians 10:13. “He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.” Some people twist that passage and say that God will never give you more than you can handle. Really? Is that right? Wait a minute. Look at our world. Look at the holocaust, death, murder, cancer, and wars. It seems people are given burdens they cannot handle.

ACPD cracking down on golf carts

Archer City approves insurance increase

The Archer City Council approved renewing health, dental, vision and life insurance with the TML Health Benefits Pool during its council meeting on Thursday, June 27. City Secretary Kim Whitsitt told the council that the city currently pays 100% of its employee’s insurance plan.

State candidates speak at Democratic Convention
