The Windthorst Trojanettes faced off against the Chico Lady Dragons in district softball double-header action on Tuesday, Mar. 5. The Trojanettes dominated Chico in the first game of their double-header, conquering the Lady Dragons pitching to the tune of 19 runs, but the second game was completely different, with Windthorst having to climb back for the 9-8 comeback.

Tigerettes clip Lady Eagles Jacksboro hammered out 18 hits and scored nine runs over the final three innings to hand Holliday its first loss in District 7-3A action in a 15-2 decision. The Tigerettes hung crooked numbers in the second, third and fourth innings to take a 7-0 lead after five.

Unofficial results from the March 5 primaries show the Republican candidates for the November election and that the County Commissioner Pct. 3 race is headed for a runoff on May 28.

In the county attorney race, Jordyn Berend received 1,440 votes (66.76%) to fend off Judy Rosenberger, who received 563 votes (26.10%), and Dan Branum, who received 154 votes (7.14%) to secure the Republican nomination. Conner Deen has already announced his intentions to run as an independent against Berend for the position in November.
