Archer City’s magnificent Wildcats saddled the highly touted Ingleside Mustangs with two first half touchdowns and held the Gulf Coast stalwarts at bay throughout almost the entire game to bring home to Archer City a 13-6 victory and the most treasured Christmas present any town can receive, the state high school Class A football championship.

DPS recognizes man for heroic actions

The Texas Department of Public Safety is recognizing an Archer County man for heroic actions that potentially saved the life of an Iowa Park woman following a single vehicle crash. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Alisha Marie Bryant, 59, was traveling southeast on Bray Road when she lost control of her 2013 Chevrolet Equinox.

Two arrested for pair of Archer City burglaries

Two Archer City men are in the Archer County Jail following a pair of burglaries in the previous week. Wyatt Austin Webb, 32, and Zachary James Howard, 28, were charged with two counts of burglary of a building after Archer Supply and the Archer City Country Club were burglarized last week.
