Two Windthorst athletes punched their tickets to the state track and field meet following the UIL Region 2-2A Track & Field Championships on Friday, April 18 and Saturday, April 19. Seniors Nolan Schreiber (3200) and Gabby Hoegger (Discus).

It was a real back-andforth all seven innings in Windthorst’s final district game against Petrolia on Thursday, April 17. A win for the Trojanettes meant a chance to fight for the first-place spot in the playoffs in the Big School division, while a loss placed them firmly as the second seed.

In one of the most anticipated matchups of the year, Holliday’s season hang in the balance as they took on the red-hot Bowie Lady Rabbits on Thursday, April 17 to decide who would take home the final District 7-3A playoff spot.

Was there ever any doubt? In the final two district games of the season, the Windthorst Trojans clinched their third consecutive district championship on Thursday, April 17 after dismantling the Petrolia Pirates 11-1.

The Sheriff’s Office received 230 calls for service this past week. As this report is being written there are 26 inmates 6 being female in the Archer County Jail.

The Holliday ISD School Board approved the purchase of playground equipment for the Holliday Elementary School in its meeting on Monday, April 14. The board accepted the bid from Lea Park and Play out of two other proposals.

The Archer City Lady Cats didn’t hold back against the Electra Lady Tigers on Saturday, April 12, pouring on 14 hits and 19 runs to improve to 7-2 in ditrict. Despite surrendering four earned runs on four hits in the game Saturday, starting pitcher Addi Canada gave up most of the damage in the first inning, giving up just one hit and hitting one batter for the next three innings.

The Windthorst ISD School board approved three items in a quick school board meeting on Monday, April 14. The board approved a donation from the Parent- Teacher Group to purchase a new laminator for the high school.
