Body The Sheriff’s Office has received 661 calls for service these past two weeks. As this report is being written there are 17 inmates 2 being female in the Archer County Jail.

Body The Windthorst ISD School Board reviewed the proposed fiscal year 2027 budget and tax rate during its school board meeting on Monday, Aug. 10.

Body The Archer City Cemetery Association received donations from individuals, families, churches and organizations from July 1, 2025, through July 30, 2026. Many contributions were made in memory or honor of friends, relatives and longtime Archer City-area residents.

Body Archer County Judge Randy Jackson placed the county under a 7-day emergency burn ban on Thursday, July 30. The ban prohibits all outdoor burning in unincorporated areas of the county.
