The Sheriff’s Office received 305 calls for service the last two weeks. As this report is being written there were 24 inmates with five being female in the Archer County Jail.

The Archer Public Library will be raising funds for our annual Summer Reading Program during Texoma Gives on September 9th. Texoma Gives is a full day of giving that provides critical funding for nonprofits in our area.

Sul Ross John Adams, the nation’s second president, once wrote, “I must study war and diplomacy so that my children may study math and science and that their children may study art and philosophy.” Thus is the story of Lawrence Sullivan “Sul” Ross, a man who beat the proverbial sword into a plowshare, leaving a lasting legacy on Texas government and education. Ross was a soldier, governor, and educator.
