Eagles win Lions Club Buckaroo Shootout

The Holliday Eagles travelled south to compete in the Lions Club Buckaroo Shootout basketball tournament in Breckenridge from Thursday, Dec. 5 to Saturday, Dec. 7. The Eagles swept the competition in the tournament, finished with a 4-0 record, and secured the tournament championship.

The both the Girls’ and Boys’ varsity basketball teams for Archer City and Windthorst competed in the annual Wildcat Classic Tournament in Archer City from Thursday, Dec. 5 to Saturday, Dec. 7. Both the Trojans and the Wildcats finished with a 1-4 record, while the Lady Cats and the Trojanettes posted a tournament record of 2-2.

Dispute muddies water tower contract

The Holliday City Council motioned to allow Mayor Brad Litteken to serve AO Industrial Solutions a notice of default of their contract after failure to complete the rehabilitation and painting of an elevated storage tank and associated work in their city council meeting on Monday, Dec. 9.

The Holliday basketball teams hosted the Windthorst basketball teams on Tuesday, Dec. 3. Both the Eagles and Lady Eagles grabbed wins, while the Lady Eagles notched their first home win of the season.
