The Archer County Commissioner’s Court approved the hiring of Paige McSpadden as the new Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Agent for Archer County on Monday, Aug. 28.

The Archer County Commissioner’s Court voted to extend the county’s burn ban for another 60 days to Nov. 10 during its meeting on Monday, Sept.

Windthorst was haunted by several turnovers and missed opportunities on offense in a 16-6 setback to Muenster on a lightning-filled Friday night. “We did not execute well in any of the three phases,” Trojans head coach Chris Tackett said following the loss.

Archer City battled Class 3A Millsap to a 0-0 draw after a quarter of play before lightning in the area ultimately ended the contest. After exchanging punts to open the game, Archer City took over near midfield midway through the opening quarter.

The Holliday Lady Eagles collected a 3-0 (25-18, 25-18, 25-15) sweep of City View to begin District 7-3A play with a win on Friday, Sept. 8.

Holliday cross country continues to dominate. With three meets under its belt, the Holliday Lady Eagles still have not tasted defeat, winning each of its first three outings by an average of 25 points.
